The New Orleans Saints completed some tasks in this year's draft. They grabbed an offensive tackle starter, secondary depth, and an exciting quarterback with major upside, among other things. Fans are excited, and they deserve to be.

It's officially that time of year. Let's overreact to the Saints' picks from this year's draft class.

The Saints found their QB of the future

Spencer Rattler is a former projected first-round pick. He must be the long-term option for New Orleans at QB, right? Well, it is not that clear. Rattler never truly hit his ceiling in college and showed more inconsistency than previously expected.

That being said, he has impressive movement skills and some of the best arm talent from this year's draft class. He has plenty of development to go, but his potential is unique. He may never be the Saints starter, but the day three pick was well worth that selection in case they can get the best out of him in the NFL.

New Orleans should not add any more OT depth in free agency

This one is just, plain wrong. The Saints may have their starters at OT in Taliese Fuaga and Ryan Ramczyk (if he is medically able). Although, they lack proven depth. James Hurst retired, and they have not brought back Andrus Peat.

New Orleans need to add, at minimum, two more veterans on the OL to give themselves capable backup play in case of injuries.

Mickey Loomis should trade Marshon Lattimore

This one has caught more fire since the Saints picked Alabama CB Kool-Aid McKinstry in round two. Immediately, fans raised an eyebrow because of recent disagreements between Lattimore and the staff in 2023.

That being said, unless Lattimore forces it, the Saints need to keep him in the building. McKinstry will be a great player for them if he stays healthy, but you should not push a top ten CB in the league out the door due to a second-round rookie. Not to mention, Paulson Adebo is entering the final year of his deal. Kool-Aid could simply be long-term insurance there.
