Could the Browns move out of the city of Cleveland?

The Browns have been playing at their current stadium for over 25 years, and their lease is up in 2028. Over the past few months, reports have emerged that the Browns could be moving out of Cleveland and heading to Brook Park, a nearby town. 

A few months ago, a report stated that Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam was close to buying 176 acres of land in Brook Park, about 14 miles from Cleveland. 

Much speculation was going around that Haslam bought the land to build a new stadium, and on Monday, we got some clarification on what was going on with the 176 acres. 

Browns Officials Met With State Lawmakers

“Cleveland Browns representatives showed state lawmakers the team’s proposal for a new multipurpose stadium in Brook Park near Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. The Plans included a major entertainment and redevelopment of the area,” a report from Signal Cleveland that came out on Monday stated.

Northeast Ohio Could Be On The Rise With A New Stadium

If the Browns were to get a new dome stadium, it would be great news for Northeast Ohio. The area has been prevented from hosting big-time events like the NCAA basketball Final Four or even the Super Bowl because it doesn’t have a dome, and if they get one, they can be in the running to host one of those events every so often.

It also would be good news for Browns fans who don’t want to sit in the cold in the winter and watch their team play. More people will go to the games now, and the dome is excellent news for every Browns fan.
