'I had lost it,' The Undertaker had to be stopped by people backstage after he attacked his opponent for real and walked out of a match
Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

The Undertaker has had a legendary career in WWE. He faced several legends in the span of his career. It included some spectacular matches at WrestleMania. However, one match that the Deadman absolutely despises is against the iconic Giant Gonzalez . He revealed that at one point, things went so far that he picked up a real fight with the superstar.

Speaking on his Six Feet Under Podcast, The Phenom divulged a story from one of his matches with Giant Gonzalez. He revealed that, accidentally, the Giant hit him hard on the back of his neck. It led to The Deadman snapping and starting to pound the legend. The WWE Hall of Famer revealed that his hits were so fast that Gonzalez couldn’t even defend himself.

I turned around and started whaling on him. He had no clue. I hit him so fast, so many times, that he couldn't defend himself. He tried to lean back and I'm whaling on him. I could see George The Animal Steele, who was an agent, he's yelling 'Stop. Stop. Stop.' I ended up getting out of the ring; it was a countout, and I was waiting for him to come back. The Undertaker

Moreover, The Undertaker accepted that the temper was high on his end. Therefore, he always felt bad about the incident afterward. The former World Heavyweight Champion added that WWE officials and agents also signaled him to stop the brawl. However, he lost his mind, carried out the ambush, and eventually walked out of the match.

The Deadman and El Gigante had animosity back in the day. It was responsible for their lack of chemistry during their infamous matches in 1993. As revealed by the Phenom himself, he didn’t like to work with him, which eventually led to this incident he had with the 7-foot-tall superstar.

The Undertaker stated that today’s product is closest to the product of the ‘Attitude Era’

The Undertaker is the person who has been a close part of both the Attitude Era and even the product of today. The WWE Hall of Famer, who made his career on the foundation of the WWE in the late 90s, recently compared the two eras. Speaking on the Busted Open Podcast, The Phenom stated that the amount of money WWE is making right now is much more than that of the Attitude Era.

The Deadman elucidated that the cities are sold out in this era. Every other show has been making history. It was not the case at the time of the attitude. However, the aspect of storytelling is widely missing from the company. The multi-time champion claimed that, for him, nothing is better than his time. However, the product of today is the closest the company can get to that.

I would never say anything is better than the Attitude Era, I mean, that's just – I'm gonna hold on to that, but what's going on now is as close as you're ever gonna get and they're making more money. The Undertaker

The new era in WWE, often dubbed the ‘Renaissance Era, has been flourishing. WWE has been booming with the products, and it seems fans are back to stick like glue for a WWE show. Even the 59-year-old star made his return to WrestleMania XL to aid Cody Rhodes this year. Besides, he often shares his opinion about the product and appreciates the direction WWE has been going lately.
